The Batman Dreams of Hieronymus Machines

Anonymous asked: What do you think of fans who grew up in the 90s, recognize now that what they were into sucked (my first comics were the last two issues of Sensational Spider-Man and the first two of Mutant X) but still somehow have nostalgia for the era despite knowing that the comics were horrible and even wish for some comics to return to the aesthetics of the 90s but even more over the top and intentionally bad to get a cheap laugh?

I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with that. So much of our business is rooted in nostalgia—those first comics that you read which made you a lifelong comic book fan have an unshakable power, regardless of how objectively good or bad they may be. I certainly have my share of comics that I love despite their shortcomings based almost entirely upon when and where I read them.
